The best month of the year is here!

As a songwriter with ADHD, I always struggle to put enough pressure on myself to sit down and write songs. After all, there is no real deadline so I can always tell myself “I'll do it later”.  It can be especially hard when I sit down to write and the Inner Critic tells me it is not good enough so I might as well go do something I am actually good at. 

February Album Writing Month is here to rescue me. FAWM is an online song writing challenge to try and write 14 songs in 28 days.  Thousands of writers from all over the world come together in the most supportive community you can image to help each other to write, write, write. It doesn't matter if a song is not The Best Song Ever, as long as you keep writing.  There are different writing challenges (write and record a song in an hour; using only specific chords; use certain prompts etc). I basically only write songs in February now. The best thing about it is that it is totally free. It is run by volunteers who love song writing as much as you do. 

If you are a writer, experienced or beginner, you will find FAWM an amazing way to get inspired AND productive. Come and say hello. And if you don't get to 14 songs by the end of the month, it doesn't matter. Because every song you write, will be one that did not exist before. So even just writing one new song is worth it.
